Philippe Douste-Blazy
Special Advisor to the United Nations
Philippe Douste-Blazy is special advisor to the UN Secretary-General, in charge of innovative sources of financing for development, since 2008. He was France’ Minister of Culture in 1995 before becoming in 2004 Minister of Health and Social Protection and Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2005
In 2007, Mr. Douste-Blazy became president of UNITAID, an international organization supporting access to medicines for developing countries, and set up the solidarity tax on airline tickets that has since raised more than a billion euros.
In 2015, UNITLIFE, a new innovative funding mechanism to fight global undernutrition, was launched at a United Nations General Assembly with Mr. Douste-Blazy as chairman.

Mario Therrien
Senior Vice-President, External portfolio management, public markets – Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ)
Mario Therrien oversees the team responsible for investments in external hedge funds and public equity funds, in addition to applying an integrated management approach to the Growth Markets mandate. His mandate consists of adding value by building portfolios with the best external managers, while improving CDPQ’s in-house management through the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in finance from Université de Sherbrooke. He has also completed the securities course given by the Canadian Securities Institute, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. Mr. Therrien is a member of the Montreal CFA Society and a Trustee of the Hedge Fund Standard Board (HFSB). The HFSB consists of investors and managers who act as custodians of the best practice standards for the hedge fund industry, as published by the Hedge Fund Working Group in 2008.

Xavier Lépine
Chairman of the board – La Française Group
Xavier Lépine has a postgraduate degree in Economics and International Finance from Université Paris IX Dauphine. He began his career in 1983 at Société Générale before joining the International Division at Banque de l’Union Européenne. In 1999, he becomes Chairman of the Board of Multifonds, which later became UFG IM, then of Alteram (2001) and Nord Europre Private Equity (2004).
In 2006, Xavier was appointed Chairman of the Board of UFG Group, which brought together all of CMNE’s asset management subsidiaries.
In 2009, Xavier announced the merger with La française des Placements, creating the new group UFG-LFP, later La Française Group.
